Our Metal Detectable Silicone Rubber Sheeting is designed for use in Food Manufacturing facilities where a detectable version of the any rubber components is necessary to reduce the potential for contamination from machinery parts. However, the detectable portion is merely the last line of defense. This highly resilient rubber can function properly in harsh environments. It is suitable for use in -73℉ to 445℉ temperatures. It's also highly resistant to corrosion and degradation due to chemicals, oxidation, UV light, radiation, general weathering, etc making it very capable to be use in just about any production environment.
The rubber compound contains a special ferromagnetic additive that allows it to be detected by properly functioning metal detectable systems. It's important to test the material to ensure that it will be properly detected by the settings within your unique system.
