The F700 solves both problems. Its nylon felt tip lays down a bold, easy-to-read line built for boxes, labels, and charts — a thicker style than any standard ballpoint offers. A fully detectable cap snaps securely over the nib to stop it drying out between uses. The body is molded from XDetect 2.0, a metal detectable and x-ray visible plastic compound with antimicrobial protection built in that stays active for the life of the pen, and it's shatterproof, so a dropped pen doesn't become a contamination risk of its own. The ink cartridge — nickel-plated brass with a polyester feeder — is fully sealed inside the body, with no exposed metal component to track separately.
